Student Expectations

Vega Collegiate Academy’s rigorous curriculum is supported by a joyful, structured environment focused on leadership, character, and academic development.
All of our systems are grounded in the belief that every child is capable of making choices at every age. Under our behavior management system, students receive positive motivators for successfully following our procedures, and students receive a negative consequence when they choose not to meet expectations. Students quickly understand that when they make good choices, good things happen, and when a bad choice is made based on our community norms, bad things happen.
Positive community contributions result in positive consequences, and a negative community contribution, results in a negative consequence. This belief forms the basis of our student Code of Conduct, and is one of the foundations of our safe and joyful environment.
"The truth of your character is expressed through the choice of your actions."
-Dr. Steve Maraboli
"The value of a college education is not the learning of many facts, but the training of the mind to think"
-Albert Einstein
